It’s Sunday morning and the faithful have gathered. Here at Hometown Friends Church, the pastor to youth has a passion for Christ-like service to the disenfranchised. He is speaking this morning about love all. The love he is talking about involves more than the mind and emotions. Most of us buy the theory; it’s the practice where I stumble.

A teenage boy in a Mumbai, India, hospital bed will soon learn the truth. He’s been told that his parents will soon be found and they will come see him. Perhaps the boy needed hope more than he needed truth. But soon he will be dealing with the fact that he is an orphan and then he will also have to deal with the fact that he was deceived.

I’m thinking I’d like those around me to never feel they need to withhold the truth in order to protect me.
