It’s Sunday morning and the faithful have gathered. The scripture today at Hometown Friends Church is Hebrews 11 and now after the message we are given opportunity to make our personal additions to the list of faith heroes.
Dear John [John Perkins],
The message at church this morning is from Hebrews 11 and now the musicians are playing “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” and we are listing our spiritual heroes. I just wrote down two names—you and Jack Willcuts. I’m grateful for the opportunity I had more than 26 years ago to learn from who you are and how you live your life rather than just from what you teach. Being able to see that it is all the same gives me a great example of faith lived out in ways that make the kingdom of God prosper.
